Would You Rather - Beauty Edition

This has been in my back log of 'posts to do' for quite a while but thought it was time I posted it. I really enjoyed this and it really make me think in terms of my must have make up products and beauty products I just could easily do without!

The 13 Personal Questions Tag

As I've made known many times I love reading more personal posts on blogs, anything to give an insight into the person behind the blog. Seeing as I love reading those types of posts when I saw this tag post flying around I thought it should be something that should feature on Beauty and Me. So enjoy these 13 random questions to give an insight into the person behind the blog.

5 Happy Things

As a New Year begins it can bring a lot of positivity but it can also bring a lot of negativity in my experience. One horrible thing goes wrong in the first couple of days/weeks of the New Year and people are like 'well that's my year ruined' or '2017 will be my year because this year definitely isn't'. Now I'm not going to shame these people because, to be honest, I've done this before in past years. But as I said in my 2016 Life Goals I want to be more positive this year and that's exactly what I'm going to do today with a list of 5 Happy Things in my life at the moment.

The Love / Hate Tag

I've seen this tag floating around for quite a while and its been on my 'blog post ideas' list for quite a while and I thought it was time I ought to put my edition out there. Basically, if you don't know the just is to name ten things that you love and ten things you hate. It's a lot harder than it first sounds!

Beauty Blogger 'Get To Know Me' Tag

It's the New Year and as I have gained quite a few new followers recently I thought I should share more about the person behind the blog and do the Beauty Blogger 'Get To Know Me' Tag. I had fun doing this tag and love sharing little bits of me with all of you too!

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
My hair is naturally wavy/curly but it never looks right when I let it dry naturally so I have to straighten it or blow-dry it straight!

2. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?
If I do dye my hair, which is rare nowadays, I do it myself, well I say myself but I really mean that my mum does it for me as she was once a trained hairdresser. She also dyes my sisters hair and has even done a few of my friends hair too!

3. Do you wear the same style everyday, or do you change it?
It's pretty much always straight and down but on the odd day or for work I rock a half up/half down do but I do want to become more adventurous with my hairstyles.

4. How long does it take for you to put on makeup?
If I am going out and am having a full evening getting ready I probably spend about an hour and really take my time and enjoy putting it on (I do other things whilst getting ready as well) but on an everyday basis I can do a full face of make up in 20 minutes.

5. What do you do first? Face or eyes?
Always the face, I do my main base, so foundation and concealer, then my eyes, then go back to my face to do the whole bronzer, contour, blush etc.

6. Do you collect makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?
I often buy just what I need, but a girl needs to have variety, right!? I do have more than the average girl needs but the way I'm looking at is that I could be spending my money on a lot more worse things plus at this moment in time theres nothing I really need to be saving for so my money is my own to spend it on whatever I like and that just happens to be make up.

7. How often do you wear false eyelashes?
Never. I have naturally long, straight lashes and have never found the need to wear false lashes plus with the right mascara I've often gotten comments from people thinking that I was wearing false lashes.

8. What are your current everyday staples?
As I'm home from university for the Christmas break I have a limited make up stash so my current everyday staples are the Soap & Glory One Heck of A Blot Powder as well as the No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation for a flawless base and then I mix it up for what's on my eyes and cheeks.

9. Do you wear makeup when you're home alone or with family?
Depends on how I'm feeling or if I want to experiment with new make up looks. Most of the time though I won't and if I have to go into town for a couple of things I don't feel the need to apply any make up, which a couple of years ago wouldn't have happened.

10. How many high-end products do you have?
I have a few, but not too many, most of which is eyeshadows. I really would love to have more high end products but some are just ridiculously expensive!

11. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you're getting dressed?
I decide in the morning once I've done everything else. Unless I have a special occasion I very rarely plan what I'm going to wear before the morning.

12. How often do you change your handbag?
Whenever the old one is worn out. I do like to have a big bag and small bag, anyone else? I am actually on the look out for a new main bag so any recommendations or ideas will be greatly appreciated!

13. How often or when do you workout?
I should work out more often but now I'm home I go swimming two or three times a week which I love and would love to be able to keep it up when I go back to university.

14. Left handed or right handed?
Right handed.

15. How tall are you?
I think I'm 5'3" but I'm not too sure.

16. Do you speak any foreign languages?
I did Spanish at GCSE but I can only remember bits and pieces of it.

17. Sweet or savoury?
I have a huge sweet tooth so would happily just eat sweets and chocolate and nothing else all day but I do love savoury foods too as I've got older especially anything with pasta and pizza, basically just carbs.

18. What's your favourite perfume?
Chanel Mademoiselle by Chanel is my all time favourite and has been for about three years now.

19. How many pets do you have?
Two dogs both Cocker Spaniels and both girls. One who is 10 this year and is chocolate brown in colour called Lucky and another who is 8 this year and is black with white features called Roxy.

20. Do you read comments posted on blogs?
I read every single comment left on my blog which at the moment isn't many and I do try and go back to posts which I've commented on to read the replies but that's becoming difficult as I comment on so many nowadays.

21. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?
I keep a mental list but if it's something I really want to try I will add it to a list I keep on my phone.

22. How did you come up with your blog name?
I changed my blog name actually, which a lot of people wouldn't know. I started out being called "paige laura" (my first and middle name) but I changed it within a month to "beauty and me", I would want to change it to be something more related to my name but I have no idea what! I have no idea how I ever came up with "beauty and me" though to be honest!

23. What kind of camera do you use for your photographs?
I use an old Samsung camera, which I seriously need to update, for my blog photos and just use my iPhone 6 for my Instagram photo

24. What's your favourite colour?
Grey, sounds quite morbid but there are so many different shades of grey and it is so timeless and classic I just love it.

25. Do you swear?
Yes, I really shouldn't but I do, I'm human.

26. What are you doing with the rest of your day?
Well it's currently 4.50pm as I'm writing this so I'm planning on having dinner, which smells amazing! I think I may be going swimming this evening with my mum if not I'll be having a mini pamper evening and maybe a Netflix binge.

I tag all of you and if you do this please link me as I'd love to know a bit more about the person behind your blog too!

The Christmas Tag 2015

Well it's Christmas Eve and there's nothing I thought that would be more suitable than posting the Christmas Tag on my blog! I love this time of year and Christmas time (especially as it means I get seven weeks off from university!) and thought it was only right to do one variation of The Christmas Tag on my blog.

001 What is your favourite Christmas movie/s?
The Santa Clause movies are my favourite with Tim Allen in them. It's not Christmas until I've watched all of those (there's three films in the series) I also love Christmas with the Kranks again it has Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis. Such a feel good funny Christmas film. I have done a whole post on my Favourite Christmas Films though which you can read here.

002 Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning?
Christmas morning! I've never understood people who open their presents on Christmas Eve. We get presents from the Christmas Tree (aka my grandparents) and we usually open those in the afternoon or on Boxing Day if we go down and see all of our family.

003 Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
Christmas memories for me are so special but as it is only one day out of the year the amount of times it gets pushed to the side. My favourite memory probably has to be a couple of years ago when it was just myself, my Dad, my Mum and my sister and we just vegged out in front of the TV all day, ate so much food and slept a lot but I just cherish family time and that was the perfect day. Even though last year was quite funny my Mum got rather drunk on Christmas Eve so was a bit hungover on Christmas Day which was so funny to watch, I had to be the parent of the day for her!

004 Favourite festive food?
Chocolate log! I know they do it all year round in variations but its the best thing to eat at Christmas and as I don't like Christmas pudding this is my alternative. Also any of the tubs of chocolate they have out at Christmas are the best. We open them a couple of days before Christmas and they never last long but are just great (and very unhealthy, so against my Slimming World diet, oops!) to pick at.

005 Favourite Christmas gift?
I've had so many amazing gifts over the years and there isn't one which I can think as being my favourite! I am just really grateful for all I receive and love them all!

006 Favourite Christmas scent?
I love all things sweet, cakes and all that but I also love the typical Christmas scents. Candles wise I love Yankee Candle Candy Cane Lane and Yankee Candle Christmas Eve they just scream Christmas to me!

007 Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
On Christmas Eve, ever since I can remember, theres a group of about five families and we all go out for dinner to a pub and its just great. I've grown up with these people and they are like a second family and just having the tradition  of going out every Christmas Eve and often end up getting in on Christmas Day. It's got a bit worse the last couple of years though as the kids have grown up most of us are over 18 years old so it usually ends up into an early meal then just getting drunk off wine and Baileys, don't regret a single thing.

008 What tops your tree?
We've only ever had a star top our tree, well as far as I can remember anyway!

009 As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
A dog. From about 7 I was always asking for a puppy and always got cuddly toys that were dogs but never an actual dog. We do have two dogs now, so I guess I kind of did get what I wanted but they weren't specifically a gift for me and we didn't get either of them at Christmas time.

010 Whats the best part about Christmas for you?
It's the family time, I just love it, especially now I'm at university its the first time since September when we literally don't have to do anything and can just all hang out together. I really appreciate family time so much more now I'm at University and Christmas is just such a great time for me now.

I really enjoyed writing this tag post and really got me into the Christmas Spirit and I cannot believe its Christmas Day tomorrow! I  really don't want it to be over this year I've had such an amazing few months leading up to Christmas but I cannot wait to give all of my loved ones their Christmas presents tomorrow!

Merry Christmas!

Have an amazing day tomorrow no matter what you do!

The Winter Tag!

It's now the 1st December, which means Christmas is nearly on us and before all things Christmassy kick off on Beauty and Me I thought I should start with The Winter Tag to get into the swing of things!

The Harry Potter Tag

If you didn't already know Harry Potter is one of my favourite series both for books and films. After seeing The Harry Potter Tag on Georgia's blog I knew I had to feature it on my blog too!

The Travel Tag

I recently discovered the blog Vanilla Drxps and was really intrigued by her The Travel Tag and thought it would be great to do on my blog.

The Autumn Tag!

Despite blogging for a number of years I have only ever done one variation of The Autumn Tag and that was back in 2012 (if you want a bit of a throwback you can read it here) and I did do a post on 5 Things I Won't Miss About Summer last month (you can read that here) so when I saw this Tag circling around I knew it had to be on my blog as Autumn is definitely one of my favourite times of year!

The Netflix Tag

If you can't already tell from some of my previous posts I love Netflix. It is great, so many TV shows and films all in one place and all you need is some reliable internet which in todays society is always easy to come by wherever you are. Seeing as I feature Netflix in some of my posts such as my What I'm Watching posts I thought it was time I did The Netflix Tag.

15 of My Favourite Feelings

I was inspired by this video by Essie Button and decided it would make a good post. So here it goes 15 Of My Favourite Feelings:

The Summer Tag!

(Source: WeHeartIt.com)
As most peoples summer holidays are just beginning and I've been home from university for what feels like forever I thought I'd do The Summer Tag to try to remind myself that it is actually the summer! I've really been enjoying writing Tag posts recently and more lifestyle posts so thought I should add this one to my blog too!

Disney Tag!

I absolutely love anything Disney and thought I would do the Disney Tag to help ease me back into blogging. I found many variations of this tag so kind of picked and chose the questions I wanted to answer. Also be warned for some throwback photos of me from when I was younger!

Seventeen Eye Shadow

After having a mini YouTube session (which happens more often than not) and binge watching FleurDeForce's most recent videos I noticed her mentioning the Seventeen Eye Eye Shadow in Rose Quartz numerous times and decided I needed to pick it up. Then as always there was an offer on so I had to pick up another one and decided I ought to share my opinion on this recent finding.

L'Oreal Hair Expertise EverSleek

The L'Oreal Hair Expertise has a number of ranges for different hair needs including EverSleek, EverStrong, EverRiche and EverPure. I personally use the EverSleek range as its for coarse and frizzy hair, which I seem to experience from use of excess heat on my hair. This is one of the only hair ranges I keep repurchasing over and over so thought it was time to give my opinion on it. The reason I purchased this was because of essiebutton as she raved about the Hair Expertise range.

I didn't originally expect to get attached to this hair range as I can be quite fussy when it comes to hair products and used to only stick with my trusted Aussie range, but from my first use of this stuff I knew it was great and since then I haven't looked back. I've been using this for months and I'm still impressed with the results. My hair is smoother and in better condition, even my hairdresser has noticed the difference and continues to compliment me on how good my hair is at the moment and its all done to these wonder products.

I can't say that I stick to using this range all of the time but it does dominate my shower and I sometimes mix it up adding another range in between washes to try new products out but I always end up back to this. I have like 3 back ups at the moment, just in case I run out and also I always pick some up whenever they are on offer because it's a steal for the amazing product you are getting.

As I said there are numerous other ranges, designed for other hair types but after looking at reviews online a lot of people are getting similar results from the L'Oreal Hair Expertise Range, so there is a range to be found for you and I would 100% recommend trying out this hair range if you haven't already.

If you have any recommendations for me please let me know in the comments below because I'm always open to trying new haircare!

Review : Origins Super Spot Remover

I have struggled with spots throughout the entirety of my early teenage years and due to not having a job or much pocket money I frequently walked aimlessly up the aisles of Boots and brought probably some of the worst products for my blemish prone skin. They destroyed my skin and inevitably made my blemish problem worse. As soon as I got a job at the age of 16 and a few spots had returned I finally was able to purchase probably one of the most hyped up spot treatments across the blogging sphere, the Origins Super Spot Remover. I was quite sceptical as it quite expensive for the amount of product you receive  but I decided it was worth it, this is my skin, something I have to live with for the rest of my life. I was not disappointed. I apply this at night by dabbing a small film of the treatment gel over the blemish and let the product do its magic overnight. I find with particularly stubborn spots this takes a few uses to fully get rid of the spot but I did notice a dramatic improvement on the redness and after the spot had finally gone there was little or none post blemish darkening of the skin.

I have been really impressed with this Origins products and despite it being only a teeny tiny bottle of product a little really does go a long way. If there's one blemish treatment you have in your skincare collection it should be this. It really does work and despite not being cheap for £15 for 10ml from Debenhams it's worth it, definitely a must have or a must try.

Christmas TAG

After my Winter Tag I decided I wanted to do some more TAGs for this time of the year, so here is my Christmas Tag.

Winter Tag

Seeing as it's getting extremely cold at the moment in England I thought it was the perfect excuse to grab a hot chocolate, light a few candles and snuggle up on my bed to do the Winter Tag. (I just googled the tag to find the questions)
